The Battle of New OrleansAmerican troops won the decisive victory over British forces at Chalmette Battlefield, site of the 1815 Battle of New Orleans.  Battered by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Chalmette Battlefield recently reopened with a new temporary visitor center.

Annual wreath-laying to honor troops who fought at the Battle of New Orleans on January 8. All programs free except evening lantern tours.
